This timeless blanket is made from hand-woven cotton and banana fibre. It has a beautiful melange look, thanks to the interplay of white and light grey. The blanket comes with long fringes and was made by artisans of the fair trade organisation ACP. Among other things, the organisation assists in the distribution of their products. Later woven into the cotton, the banana fibre is extracted from the trunk of the banana tree. It is incredibly durable and is one of the strongest natural fibres in the world. Once the fibres have been extracted from banana trunks in a multi-stage process, the material can be processed. The artisans use a handloom for this. Weaving is one of Nepal's many traditional handicraft techniques; usually, the skill has been passed down from generation to generation.
