Inspired by the shapes, tastes and culture of our east african heritage, we are thrilled to launch this limited edition scoop which has been designed in collaboration with dine with dina.
The unique twisted handle and generous scoop make it ideal for scooping grains, granolas, coffee and flour. It is also great for serving cream and smaller side dishes. It's a beautifully tactile piece - sculptural, practical and stylish.
Some of the scoops feature a unique two-toned natural grain, showcasing the raw natural beauty of african blackwood.
Dina is a food developer, writer and presenter who has combined her passion for food to create a platform that champions her zanzibari and omani heritage. She also has a small collection of spices that represent both sides of her heritage and would make a great to pair with this scoop.
This scoop has been carved by our team of makonde wood carvers who are renowned for their craftsmanship, a skill passed down for generations. Your purchase supports job creation and helps to keep the tradition of wood carving in the makonde tribe alive.
Made in tanzania by the makonde wood carvers.
Material: african blackwood.
Please note although the wood is called african blackwood, it can sometimes have beautiful light grains and sections running through it.
Size: total length 12cm , scoop diameter 5cm.
Handmade: As with all handmade items, slight variations in shape, design and colour may occur.
