Looking at them you would assume they were for stew-like affairs only but no – they are such good conductors of heat that you can brown bread in them or make an apple upside down cake. (If you can do that when you are camping I will reconsider my views on camping and may come with you.) They have feet for standing directly on the coals or can hang on a chain from a tripod over the fire. The lid has a rim designed for holding coals so the heat comes from top and bottom. Comes with an ace recipe book too. Made by Lodge in Tennessee. They’ve been making them for a long while now so they know what they’re doing.
