Welcome to the fairy tale world of Copenhagen born artist Bjørn Wiinblad, whose brightly coloured, detailed designs became very popular in post war Europe. With a gentle nod to Scandinavian folk art, Wiinblad's romantic, imaginative art is now reinterpreted in this modern, functional range of ceramics fit for a new generation.

New to the Wiinblad collection at The Scandinavian Shop are the Eva sisters, a pair of vases with the familiar round heads and long bodies reminiscent of vintage Wiinblad pieces. With soft Spring colours, decorative floral relief details and rosy cheeks, the vases are a superb contemporary interpretation of Scandinavian folk art - a throw back to Wiinblad's original work. Using the artist's own drawings for the gentle facial features and even the pattern on the dress design,  there is an authenticity and a nostalgia about these vases which makes them so very likeable.
