Outside In: A Year of Growing and Displaying - Sean A. Pritchard
Sean A. Pritchard is the Instagram champion of making a teetering pile of books look desirable! Through his social media presence he has shown the interior of his home and caused many (me included) to hanker after dropped petals, lustreware bowls and jar after jar of in-season flowers.
If you want to go after the whole look then this book will give you the guidance and encouragement to do so; however you can also just steal elements of his advice and bring them into your home. One of the things that Sean has done with his depictions of his own home is show that there is a beauty to flowers at all stages of their life cycle and that a slightly straggly pelargonium has its own easy elegance.
His advice ranges on what to use to show off your flowers, and how to use flower supports (such as the Niwaki kenzan) to enable you to make use of vessels other than a standard vase or jug. He also gives advice on what to grow, when to pick it and which particular varieties of dahlia he favours.
You may also notice by flicking through Outside In: A Year of Growing and Displaying that Sean is also a fan of 60s era Wedgwood, which . . . . is always a good thing in my book.
