Beldi Maison The Interior Design Handbook By Frida Ramstedt
Good To Eat - David Atherton
This book was one of the choices of food book of the year selected by Leyla Kazim from Radio 4s Food Programme.
David Atherton was the winner of the Great British Bake Off in 2019; his approach in that programme was always edited as slightly boring but methodical and effective. If you have ever seen any of his social media you will know that this TV edit is not his actual persona. He is however interested in nutrition and the effects of what we put into our bodies on our physical health.
This book is a celebration of food that is full of flavour but also good for us. There are recipes for breads, soups, pick'n'mix salads, pescatarian meals and sweet treats made with hidden vegetables to hit cravings in a healthier way. By focusing on the microbiome and how best to feed your gut, he shares recipes that will nourish this part of our bodies.
And none of it is going to be too scary for anyone who would normally run a mile from a pumpkin seed. Atherton also scores big brownie points with me for including a recipe for hot cross-less buns.
