Oiva Toikka's Puffball Cranberry design was introduced into the family of glass birds at Iittala's Finish glassworks in 2014. The rich, berry-red shade of the Puffball works beautifully with glass and provides an eye catching contrast to many of the more neutral birds in the collection, especially when it catches the light It is difficult not to love this this small, round bird who would make a vibrant addition to a collection or a very great place to establish one.
Born from a happy marriage between highly skilled craftsmen at the Iittala glassworks in Finland and the creative vision of artist and designer Oiva Toikka, the Toikka birds first came to life in 1972 and have since become admired and collected by glass lovers the world over. Over the course of four decades, the prolific Toikka has designed upwards of 500 glass birds which have been hand crafted by Iittala.
