There’s an entire world out there, below the surface of the sea. And while the sun lures us to seaside places, it’s the shimmering blue waters of oceans, rivers, seas and lakes that fascinates us – along with the many creatures that live there – one of them being the Koi fish. Legend says that if a Koi fish can jump across the waterfall of Ryūmon, it might turn into a dragon. Based on that, Japan brings the traditional thought of Koinobori, a symbol for young boys growing up to be dragons – or great men – in the future. One thing’s for sure though, these stoneware plates are full of imagination, color and culture.
