What Artists Wear - Charlie Porter
For a long time Charlie Porter was a fashion journalist at The Guardian, he followed this with a stint at the FT in the same kind of role. His new book is about the relationship between artists and clothes and how the clothes that artists choose to wear can inform the art that they make or vice versa. There are artists for whom the public appearance that they take is very much part of their artwork and others who want the work to stand alone without distraction, Porter is interested in both. He is interested in the clothes that they wear while making work and the clothing that they wear when they are not in the studio. His book features original interviews, artists' contributions and over 300 images.
